Flights for fs....

I love flying in the middle east..........2 days ago I flew from Dubai to Riyadh, Emirates A330, then yesterday from Riyadh to Doha on Qatar Airways A330 and this morning from Doha to Abu Dhabi flying Qatar's A320. I fly an average of 2 hours because it gets boring after long! I am planning a flight from Beirut to Paris CDG either on MEA A330 or Air France B777-200, when I have time, a 3.5 hour flight over most of Europe, preferably during the daytime!

I've been playin' with FS2004 for at least two years and I know next to nothin' about what it will do beyond just free flights with no destination or whatever. I knock about for a bit, get distracted, hit Escape and go on to something else, either in FS or onto the web. I would really like to know how this sim works, how to set-up a flight, how to conduct it from A to B, et cetera. I have little time to learn and no one to ask questions of directly...

FS '98, FS 2000, FS 2002, FS 2004...(FSX?)

Because of the amazing scenery, I have spent the last 10+ years, (every day!), with my trusty relief Maps, exploring every square inch of California from Eureka to San Diego, and the Nevada Border to the Pacific Coast!

I always fly General Aviation Piston Props, on and off line, and organise and file my Flight Plans with the aid of "FS Navigator", using all my Radios for navigation.

Lots of fun, and an excellent Geography lesson to boot!... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]...!

I love flying GA aircraft, and the bigger airliners from time too time with the PMDG 737. I got a few favorite fields to fly from, default TIST and TNCM, then the LFRD addon scenery(search for it on avsim) and the beautifull glacier bay, so much to fly, and so little time .

Most of the time I pretend to fly cargo from one airfield to another in the state of Washington or Alaska. Got both of these states filled with (payware) airfields and other goodies. For this I use a small propellor driven plane. Anything bigger than a KingAir is out of the question.

Besides that I do fly jets around the Middle-East for a virtual Airline called Arabian Airlines. Usually 1.5 to 2 hour hops.

I'm an all-rounder commercial jet pilot, as the purpose of GA flying in FS, at least to me, seems a little frivolous, that part can wait until I have more scenery, as GA under the default FS9 scenery is terrible, there is nothing exciting.

So, in the meantime, I invest in commercial jets, both large and small:

PMDG 737 & 747
CLS A330/A340
CaptainSim 707
SSTSIM Concorde

And one payware mega-hub, and one freeware to the same quality, both with AES.

I've been so spoiled...

Anyway, typical flights for me usually start in Heathrow (though I am not British) and half the time are intercontinental, and the other half leapfrogging, usually ending in JFK in New York.

PMDG has a huge level of automation, so I can usually relax while the fight is in progress.

SSTSIM, however, requires constant attention, but gets you across twice as fast.
