I've been in the process of flying the hoplist over at www.wspilots.com on the world tour server.

1400+ hops, many designed for small aircraft :)

Ive done one round the world trip in a Beechcraft King Air.  When I got back, I cruised all the way down to antarctica from Canada in the King Air.  Now im probably going to head back North, don't want to get too far in, theres no daylight (or lights for that matter) in some ice strips down in antarctica.  Going to do some hops to some smaller islands next, thats the plan anyways.
Cheers,
RB

I am planning on doing one myself. I'll start off from Alaska and fly along the entire coast of North, Central, and South America, work my way into Europe and fly along the coast of all the continents [except for antarctica].

I'll do it all in either the N-9 flying wing or in my favorite P-38.

Yay an inspiring topic!!!! If you do fly RTW I hope it goes well PianoMan, and Katahu as I have said in your most recent poll that you ought to do it in the Lightning.

I'm working on a long trip that ends where it started. I'm not calling it an around the world trip so that I don't get discouraged. :P

Couple more things. Once you've found out your flight time, it's a good idea to use 'Go to Airport' to jump ahead and find out what time you'll be landing; then, if you like, time your takeoff so that you arrive in daylight.

The other decision is whether to fly east or west. I prefer west, because you're flying with the sun', so the days are 'longer'. But the prevailing winds are more often on your tail if you fly eastbound, which can be important with short-ranged types.

cspyro21, looks like you'll be visiting Cairo. Don't forget to 'see the sights' - and take your camera with you

Lol trust you to do it in a Spit Ozzy.....I did try that but my spitfire kept spiraling out of control....  :(
But hey, Spitfires are just the best at the end of the day.   ;)
