This is the default MS aircraft you're using? To make sure the AP follows the GS activate the BOTH, NAV1 and NAV2 marker buttons. You'll get the annoying morse code all the way, but through this crazy way, FS knows to keep the default planes tracked all the way on the GS to the runway(CAT II ils), but you still need to flare, set flaps and be aware of the particular plane's Vref's and weight as everyone has mentioned.

Thanks for all the advice folks, I have now sussed how to print the kneepad data, and how to use the ap.  It don't half make a difference when you do it correctly!!  I have had lots of fun landing in almost zero viz, with lots of fog and rain.  Now its time to add some wind and turbulence!

I have got an actual chart of the south of england, and enjoy planning and flying routes using vor and ndb, with an ils approach at the end.

Now for your next challange.  I live in Cornwall (UK) and fly on the sim locally, (with vfr photographic scenery-fantastic).

St Marys airport on the Isles of Scilly (EGHE)  has an ils feather on the real chart.  Does anybody know the localiser frequency?  Excellent websites like FSCharts.com have approach plates for just about everywhere, but not St Marys!!

Nexus,

What was the cost on that and where did you get it (them)?

best,

.................john

I have just had great luck in knowing some very kind pilots. I'd have very little chance of getting them on my own. And they cost a fortune so I've heard  :-[
