Flying the Caravan Amphib and stopping to re-fuel wouldn't be that unrealistic because they can carry about 7 45gal drums, that is if you don't have any paxs  ;).  Cheers!

Why worry about the heavies, I've flown the 777 over 3,000 miles, and I didn't even need half the fuel capacity ;)

I've flown a 747-400 almost 7000nm (KLAX~YSSY) and managed to have a little under 50% fuel remaining. (46% was left  ;D)
