BEFORE you run out of gas...

...just pull up in front of one of the fuel pumps....automatic fill-up... ;)...!
Observe your fuel gauge.

Yep...!
..watch your fuel gauge...it will show filling up with gas...!

The program detects that you are within the area occupied by the fuel pump...!

On some aircraft, you have to actually shut the engine down while sitting by the pump, in others you have to set the parking brake. I dont know why, but sometimes it doesn't work for me untill I look out of the window at the gas pump, and then back to the panel. That might just be coincidence though.

Depends on the plane and how ya fly it.  F-16s and other fighters treat fuel like water, whereas the Vega has an amazing range.

You can also go into the aircraft menu (alt, then click on "Aircraft" on the game menu).  Select "Edit fuel and payload"; you can reset your fuel manually to any amount up to 100% as you see fit.  On the ground, it would be just as though the fuel truck pulled up.
300,000 KM/S - Its not just a good idea, its the law.

The Amount of fuel onboard, as well as how fast the engine burns it will determine that. Some acft are real good with fuel consumption, and don't require as much to provided effective power to the engine.

Weight of the acft, pax, cargo etc will also effect how quickly fuel runs out. The heavier the acft, the more work the engines have to do, the more fuel they will burn.

There are alot of factors that go into the total weight you can carry as well. With the C-12's we have here at New River, you have to look at pax/cargo load as well as the distance to determine the fuel load. HOWEVER...with max fuel load of 3,645 lbs and max payload of 2,647, the max range it has is around 2,260 miles at 35K ft.  Move the figures around and the range will deviate.
