Skip the checkride.  They're full of bugs and ALMOST impossible to pass.  Just stick to the lessons. ;)
Great edit, Bob.

Yep, sure is.  :P :P

Naaa I'll tell you.  ;D

Look in:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Uires

Path for this file:

gsimgcertif_airtransport.bmp

Use a photo editor to put your name in the blank line and you have it.

FS 200X checkrides are horrible. I passed my RL PPL test and checkride with ease and I can't get past that much in FS.

I also passed some of the checks in 2k2, but I didn't even bother with FS9, given how hard 2k2 was....lol

I had trouble with the PPL for a while, but if youclick on "Analyse Flight" after you end flight, you can see where you go wrong. For instance in the turns, you have to stay within 100Ft and 10Kt airspeed. I found that due to the vagiaries of my video card, it was hard to do this. Nevertheless, I got it after 7 tries.

Dave,

I've been known to wallow around in the lessons and checkrides.

What *exactly* are you having trouble with?  In other words what reason does the examiner give when you fail?

I may be able to find out what the problem is.

Hi dave....No passengers in the default sim...no airgates either and I don't know what failier means. In what context was it used?

Some payware has interactive gates such as this pic from Just Flights British Airports..maybe there is some freeware too. Here's my 747 at Gatwick with the airgate in position. To activate that you change the Nav1 radio frequency when in the correct position at the gate..the catering truck also services the aircraft at the same time....looks cool but takes some time to perform the whole thing and becomes boring after a few goes..commoner  ;)

Dave this only works for the payware I mentioned....you just have to change the Nav 1 to any other frequency..commoner ;)
