instrument check ride

Hi everyone,

I wonder if somebody know how to enter in the holding pattern for the instrument checkride in FS2004?

You're not going to pass the checkrides.   It's POSSIBLE, but not likely, and now that I've said that, everyone else is going to come on and tell you how often they've passed them.

I've passed them myself.  Twice.  In six years of simming.

In regards to learnign something I think a good way is to look at the altitude/heading deviations allowed in the checkride preview, then go into the sim, somewhere were you are comfortable and practice until you can turn to heading???? while maintaining a certain altitude...read about a holding pattern, etc. and try to duplicate them as close to humanly possible..

No you may not get a grade, but I believe that if you hit escape one of the options available to you is to go back and review the flight.  Doing this you can review how many times you busted altitude assignments etc.

Was a very useful way of learning for me..;-)

it's possible if one puts in the time and energy. It requires perfection. I did the first one and haven't done the checkrides on the others.

From what I know...skip the instrument checkride...it just wastes valuable gaming time...

Just like Jared said, review your flight and see how often you deviate from the altitude assignments, especially in the turns. You'll find that keeping within 10ft is virtually impossible. Can be done tho, but not consistently. Problem is, the digital nature of computers against the analog nature of real time flying. Microsoft haven't allowed for this.

Its a hard checkride, after a few tries of not passing it (didnt mind the fog, the wind though really made me mad in maintaining that altitude and heading  >:(), I finally gave up.  

Ive flown in lots of stormy, super low vis, windy weather all the time relying on only instruments in this sim, and Id say I can instrument fly just fine.  No need for stupid ole virtual checkride certificate bah  ::)
