Anybody know how to remove the annoying message 'Your engines are not started, press control E' or point me in the direction of the appropriate answer if soeone else has asked previously!
Just kidding. I'm not sure, but I don't think there's a way to REMOVE it. But you could try turning off the flight tips (I forget where they are located). Look around in the settings section and see if you can find it.
I also have one that stops the "BRAKES" from showing up whenever you apply the brakes, but it involves going into the fs9.cfg file, which is hidden, so you have to unhide it first or you will never find it :o
Scroll down until you reach a section called [Sim]
Add a third line " show_brake_message=0 " so the section now reads :
(SIM) SYSCLOCK=1 show_brake_message=0
Now save the file. And MAKE SURE that you backup the fs9.cfg file before you edit it ;D
I agree with Skittles....I even went to the forum to see if I could correct the lack of views....no luck....I guess I'll have to remove and reinstall FS9 to see if that clears up the problem....I've tried removing the lines in the FS9. CFG file but that doesn't seem to help...
Not wanting to sound knowledgeable cos I am not when it comes to PCs!! However, I always copy my original files into an "originals" folder with a comment added to the properties as to where it came from. Then if a replacement file doesn't work out the way you wanted you should be able to just substitute the old one back into place? Perhaps this won't always work but so far I have had no probs.

Very much so Herc. This process is widely known as 'Backing up your files' and if you haven't the sense to do this before hand, then go sell your computer. ;)
BTW, you shouldn't have to re-install. Simply start up FS and it will rewrite the cfg file for you. You will lose your settings, but it's easier to tweak it again than to re-install it...
