gauges

Postby 54metropolitan » Sat Oct 20, 2012 1:01 pm

Hi, Could someone point me in the direction. I need to fix my gauge problem. I have downloaded several aircraft over the past couple of years. I am far from any kind of expert but have always had o.k. luck. The other day I downloaded a p-38 from the site and lost all of the gauges on some planes. Some of the gauges on others. And some weren't affected at all. I tried re-downloading the Concorde package but it didn't fix the problem on that aircraft.

Can you tell us which aircraft and post a screenshot? It might help us identify missing gauges and help you get them back.

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

I'll try and figure out how to get a screen shot to you. But for now what I can tell you is that on the default cesna the only gauges that appear are the air speed, fuel @ fuel flow, temp & pressure, rpms, and vor2 indicator. The places for the missing gauges are there but the gauges don't appear.

Hi there. I suspect you've overwritten a default gauge with one with the same file name from an earlier version of FS. You can fix this by copying the file direct from the FS2004 CD.

I think the file you need is named Cessna.gau. You can find this in MSGAME3.CAB on FS2004 CD #2. Paste a copy of this file into your FS2004\Gauges folder. Overwrite files when prompted. Please tell me if that fixed it.

To avoid this happening in future I strongly suggest not overwriting files when installing gauges included with 3rd party aircraft to the FS2004\Gauges folder.
