Default planes over sensitive?

Postby wifesaysno » Fri Feb 17, 2012 12:19 pm

I think all of the default planes are way to touchy, the last time I flew in a 172, I had no problems what so ever holding a constant pitch without trim, but in the sim it is REALLY touchy. The King Air 350 seems to be the worst of the lot pitch wise in particular. Is there a way to tone them down a wee bit?

Try and lower the realism settings a tiny bit. They do tend to be a bit twitchy on max ;)

Are you using a keyboard, mouse, or joystick to control the aircraft?  Since this seems to affect multiple aircraft, have you tried adjusting the control sensitivies under Options>Controls>Settings?

I winch the sensitivity down to zero, and turn off the Force Feedback!...they are annoying!

The real forces are felt in your bum...not in your hands... ;)...!

I agree. They do seem more sensitive than they should be. You can change control sensitivity in the [flight_tuning] section of the aircraft.cfg file. But first make a copy of the entire .cfg file, just in case.

Here's the Cessna 182's:

I use mainly the Thrustmaster X HOTAS stick/throttle but I have a Saitek ST290 twist stick with throttle. With either one they are over sensitive...especially with the Saitek after I greased the stick ;) now that stick is PERFECT for aerobatics!!

Art, I will try editing the aircraft cfg's, thank you for the pointer!

I would prefer to not adjust my realism settings only because I do not want to affect the free ware planes which are all perfect for me sensitivity wise.

Thanks again folks!

Adam
