Location Coordinates...

Postby Fozzer » Sat Aug 14, 2010 6:20 am

Good Afternoon, Chums, and Chumesses!.... :)...!

The FS 2004 Location Menu:
Create a Flight > Go to Airport > Airport name/Airport ID/Airport City... ::)...!

There are many times when I require to be plonked down in a location which doesn't have an Airstrip, etc, but I do know the exact coordinates of the location; eg, N12*28.27' W061*27.65'.
Is there a place in the FS 2004 Location Menu where the specific "coordinates" can be entered, to achieve the same result?

Many thanks... ;)...!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004...FS Nav...in a coordinated location!... ;)... ;D...!

It's a little "tricky" but after you are in Fly Now mode, such coordinates can be entered into the Map view.

Thanks, David.... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]...

...but I see what you mean by "tricky"... :o... :o....!

You also need to know the exact "Altitude" (Height) of the location beforehand, as well, to plonk the Plane down safely on the ground!.... ::)...!
(...and ensure that the "Air Speed" is set to ZERO!).

...but its a start!... ;)... ;)....!

Many thanks!

Paul,

If you enter slew mode, then open the map and move your plane, you will still be in slew mode when the sim reloads.

When in the map mode, set your altitude at 0 feet and the sim will reload with your plane on the ground.

Verify that by pressing F1, then exit slew mode and you should be good to go.

cheers,
Joe

I would take of from the nearest airport.......Plonk  her down where you want to be plonked  ;) and then save the flight, so you can pick from the location later......I know it's not really what you are looking for.......but it works.
