Eagle Field Scenery Probs!

Postby Fozzer » Fri Mar 05, 2010 5:51 pm

Hello Chums...

Something very strange... :o...!

Eagle Field Scenery, California, for FS 2004....>>>

http://www.simviation.com/simviation/?ID=85&page=1000

Installed in my Add-on Scenery Library, as I do in the usual way, via the Add-on Scenery Folder, together with all my zillions of other Add-on Scenery Files for California...
The usual named Folder; "Eagle Field", containing the correct "scenery" and "texture" Folders, complete with all their usual files.

Now the funny thing is.....nothing shows up in the Eagle Field Airfield.....its empty apart from the Runway.... :o...!

Everything in the Library List is as it should be...but zilch appears upon running the Sim... :o...!

This is one of the latest FS 2004 Scenery files, and I wonder if anyone else is having similar problems?

...any ideas, Chums?...

Paul....G-BPLF...FS 2004...FS Nav...and loads of fully working add-on scenery.... :)...!

A very interesting Airfield with a long History...See History...>>>>

Hi Paul. The file name is 7ks9.zip. 7KS9 is Eagle Field, Kansas. ;)

From the installation instructions the author seems a tad confused.

Well blow me down!... ;D...!

He got everything else right...Dos Palos, California,  is just a few miles up the road from Eagle Field California...

He just put the scenery in the wrong State... :o...!

I suspect Pete wrote that description. ;) There's nothing in the zipfile to say which Eagle Field it is.

...(an Eagle-eyed Douglas)... ;D...!

That's me. 8-)

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

What is even more interesting is that this "misplaced" (Kansas not California) package appears to have used most, if not all of the original scenery items which were created by Mark Smith for the Stear04.zip package at Flightsim.com.

I did not look to see if Stear04.zip was in the library here.

I also noted the author did not even put is name anywhere in the unzipped package - perhaps for good reason.
