Nose wheel sensitivity (adjustments?)

How can I adjust the nose wheel sensitivity so it isn't so sensitive. I have gone into the game and reduced the sensitivity and tried a little null zone stuff but it doesn't make any difference on some planes. Usually I go into the flight tuning in the aircraft config. file and change the numbers to suit what I want as far as yaw, roll and pitch etc. but I don't see anything there for steering on the ground.  I like to fly Boeing 727's but on take off I am zig zagging down the runway with minute rudder inputs. Some planes are ok but some are super sensitive. I would appreciate any help I could get on this.   Thankyou

Hi...Steer Angle is found in the Contact Points section of the aircraft.cfg in the relevant aircraft..........change the number highlighted to a more suitable one for you. figures like 180 will probably give NO steerage..try 70 as in my 747.....

Commoner is on it.

There are several things that impact this and the contact  point is key.

In game, since our models do not mimic real world steering so well, I find that 45 or less is better for takeoff control.  RW aircraft are limited to like 7-9 degrees of deflection after 15-20 knots.

Secondly, sometimes we find that the CoG is not exact;y correct and we end up with too much weight on the steering gear. thereby giving the gear too much "bite".  It should take about 20% of the weight.  CoG needs to be around 25% MAC of the wing.  Not much you can do there if you do not have the tools to read actual CoG.  If you do, then you can change it in the airplane_geometry section of the cfg using the wing_pos_apex_lon = 1.83.  This specifies the distance the wing's leading edge is ahead of CoG in feet and usually equates to 25% MAC (23-28 is okay).

What are you using for rudder control? the reason I ask is that I had a terrible time with rudder input on the ground using CH pedals, and the fix was in using the CH control panel to run the pedals, not just using the games controls.......the minute I installed the program the problem went away and now all my aircraft feel as they should on the ground.

Yes I am using the CH rudder pedals. I will check your comments out some more. They work good on some planes   and others were away to sensitive. I tried changing the numbers in the point section of the aircraft config. as suggested  and it really helped alot. Thankyou for your input, I appreciate any help I can get.

I can pretty much gaurantee that getting the control manager will clear up your problem, and it's such a huge releif when it actually works as it should  8-)

I found it a bit cumbersom to get going, but once it's installed, it's done and you never need to bother with it again......taxiing gets almost fun  :)

Thankyou for the link to the CH control manager, I have that version of control manager installed but I'm kinda a dummy, because when I open the control manager to make the adjustments I can't figure out how to do it and I don't see a step by step help guide on that sort of thing. I will keep trying but so far I am stumped on how to make the adjustments.

Like I said it was annoying to get it going  :-? I ended up getting help on there support forums (if you are a dummy, your not the only one ;)) I even just went and at looked at the control manager to see if looking at it reminded me of the problems I had.......it didnt ::)
If you have it recognising your pedals then you probably wont need any adjustments they will work just fine with the default settings and your taxi problem will be fixed........if it's still stumping you I would suggest their forums.
