What about heat  :o........carb heat is the silent killer ;)
I was always taught to read through every checklist...........however on downwind you should go through a memorized pre-landing checklist, and to make easier to remember, you work from left to right across the panel.......the same as you would in an engine failure :o
So in a cessna...... primer is locked, master is on, mags on both etc. etc. etc. accross the panel and then down to fuel management. Get it all out of the way on downwind, then you can just worry about flying the plane on base and final  8-)

Sounds pretty busy there on downwind - don't forget to watch for traffic

Yah I was refering to ice.
That downwind checklist is more of scan to make sure the big tickets.....like carb heat, mixture, gear, etc. etc. are in order before you start getting really busy on base.

Remember one time I was rearranging knobs and temporarily had the mixture close to carb heat.
