no engine smoke in 2004 aircraft?

Postby satz » Mon Apr 20, 2009 4:43 pm

hi all

Most of my aircraft (in built and addons) seem to be missing 'smoke' function in fs2004.

THe only ac that seems to produce smoke when I press "I" is the Extra (the aerobatic one)

Any ideas if I need to modify anything?

thank you

The Extra is the only default a/c that has smoke. HOWEVER, you can add smoke effects to any model you like.

You need three things to do this.
1) The smoke effects to use. There are MANY to choose from on the net.

2) A slight familiarity with aircraft.cfg files. This is where you define which smoke effect gets used, and where it's placed on the aircraft.

3) PATIENCE!!! If you're adding smoke to an aircraft that doesn't have it by default, geting it placed on the model so that it looks right may take some time.

Here's a brief rundown of what to look for:

[SMOKESYSTEM]
smoke.0=7.00, -20.00, 40.00, fx_smoke_w
OR
smoke.# = top/bottom +/- , front/back+/- ,
