Vibration

Postby Sean_TK » Sun Apr 12, 2009 4:10 pm

Not quite sure where to put this, but I'm sure the mods will know.

I'm sure that those of you who have used either the Nord 3202 or Fravin's C-150, have noticed that there are vibration effects from the engine present in the virtual cockpit. The Nord just has them at startup, and the 150 has a mild vibration continuously.

Is there a way to add either of these vibration effects to other aircraft? (Preferably the 150 style, with the constant vibration with the engine running, rather than just a brief startup appearance.)

Just add them in the Aircraft.cfg you need 'em in ;)

Sorry Ozzy, I'm not seeing any obvious way to add in this effect.

I have looked for entries in both the Cessna and Nord in the panel and aircraft files and have not seen anything referencing the vibration effect.
As stated earlier, I would prefer the one in the 150, but I cannot figure out what I need to extract from that plane to add it in others.
:-?

I just download what I think is the same Cessna 150 to which you refer. Got it at http://www.fs-tutoriels.com/

The file name is Cessna_150_L_100HP_FRA.zip

I don't really get the feeling of any "vibration" - but the sound in this aircraft is certainly better than the default Cessna so perhaps that is what you are sensing.

If you are speaking of a different aircraft, please provide a filename and a link if possible.   ;)

Opa, it is indeed the one you downloaded.
When in the VC with the engine running, take a look at the edges of the instrument panel. Also, look to your right or left and look at the wings. You should be able to see a noticeable built-in VC shaking effect. I have a feeling that somehow it is built into the model and does not use an extractable gauge, but I would love to be proved wrong.
