Sunken tires

First the Aircraft: - Download from Props Pg 8 - "FS2004 AT6D Trainer Package" 3 variations

Second the problem: The tires, both the tail and the undercarriage, are slightly sunken into the tarmac. When the plane is taxiing, I often get sparks and smoke from the tail wheel when the brakes are applied, just as if the metal part of the wheel is hitting the ground. It's even more spectacular when I land and the airplane bounces! Is there a simple method to correct the height of the wheels and counteract this phenomenon?

You have to edite the "contact points" in the aircraft config file.

Thanks John. I've gone into the .cfg and found the contact points section. Is there a tutorial anywhere that explains what the numbers refer to and their meaning?

Look in the aircraft.cfg file of most any default aircraft and you'll find comments above the [contact_points] section that describes the elements.

If raising the wheels does not solve the 'sparking', there is no doubt an errant 'scrape point' at the tail which will need editing also.

All OK now. I figured 0,1 & 2 were the wheels and which number in the string referred to the height, and tweeked them until the tires were flat. No sparks and smoke when I braked sharply on taxiing. Learning something new everyday.  :)
