Now I remember why I hate FS2004 ...

Postby WebbPA » Tue Oct 28, 2008 9:43 pm

I wondered how long it had been since I used FS2004 (over FS2002) and my logbook showed it has been 10 months. I wondered what what was so bad about it.

Now I remember - it's that horrible, ugly, resource-hogging GPS.

I could probably fix the lame clouds and water color (brown?) if I wanted to continue to use it but the GPS is the straw that breaks the camel's back.

I've searched the most likely download spots (SimV, AVSim, nonodes) but I can't find a FS2000 style GPS.

Does one exist?

Yeah it's a hog, in aircraft that has the GPS as an integrated part of the 2d panel and VC, such as the Howard 500, removing it definately helps the frame rates.
