C150 question

Hope this is the right place for this question
I recently took out that fabulous french C150 http://www.fs-tutorials.com/en/down_planes.php  Its amasing! one of the best modeled AC I've come accross! One thing about it that annoys me is that the glass from inside seems way to scratched and crazed, although this is quite realistic I find it to be to much and it makes the outside FS world look a little dull and colourless.
My question is, can some tell me how to change this glass effect for something a little less......disruptive  ;)

PS. if you havent tried this little gem.....you should. especially if you are new to flight sim or flying in general. this is a great trainer, real world and in FS.

Without having to mess with photoshop or anything.....try downloading some of the various repaints for the aircraft at a few of the major FS sites. I believe there are a few with modified glass files, and when you find one that suites your tastes, just copy that glass file to the other texture folders.

Hi Rom...do as Sean says by all means but you might be looking for some time.....

Alternately get DXTBmp if you don't already have that little utility and do the job in there........

In all the different texture folders for each paint job is an extended bmp called glass_cv.bmp....open this in DXTBmp and you will see the Alpha Channel which determines how transparent the image is........White is opaque and Black is totally transparent............in my pic. I went black, but if you want to see a little of the reflections then go sort of darkish grey..............you'll have to change the file in every one of the planes but that's easy once you have the new file made .......

Of course you are not the only one here that helps us, but I always seem to see you figuring out exactly what folks need to do in order to get the results they are after. I have this AC in my hanger and it is one of my favorites (see my sig).... I personally have not noticed the scratches....which window or windows are they on?

Hi F1..well thanks for the few kind words there....much appreciated, especially as I have been under a bit of flack lately for expressing an opinion which unfortunately was not totally accepted in some parts

....And for firemonte007...here are the said "scratches" which I think actually represent reflections from inside the cockpit...some might like them but some it seems want shot of em, hence my post.

I have the glass_cv.bmp file which I have made for myself and (providing no one thinks it is illegal for one reason or another) if any body can't do the job I will email the file to them. Just PM your address.

Thank you for the replies, Commoner I suppose you are right that its more of a reflection than scratches, that being said, I really like the changes you have made it's exactly what I was thinking when I made the post  8-) I would like to second F1's kind words, you really do a great job of helping others.

This C150 (an aircraft long awaited for, this side of the monitor) is freakin' awesome! The guys who made it are geniuses.  :)
