oversensitive pitch - C-208 Caravan

Postby dodger1 » Sun Aug 03, 2008 6:52 pm

I thought it was just me, but my brother-in-law, who flew C-208's out of Nairobi into some seriously unfriendly bush strips, couldn't fly it in the sim either! And I cannot find a fix here. Probably need a reminder how to modify the default files. Please??? :-[

If all aircraft seem oversensitive you could try lowering the sensitivity of your joystick axis. Settings>Controls>Sensitivities.

If it's just the C-208, open it's aircraft.cfg file and look for the [flight_tuning] section.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary on mine.  If anything the aircraft.cfg would have the lines you could try to modify.  Is the c-208 the only aircraft with this problem?

Thanks, folks. Been a while since I went to the .cfg. file (read: I forgot :-[). I set the elevator back to .8 and it's better. And, no I don't find the pitch overly sensitive on other a/c, but I seldom fly the default ones, so maybe it's just them. BTW I have a Saitek X-45 and am satisfied with it's set-up.
