I know we've talked about this before...

Postby homebrewer » Wed Jul 23, 2008 12:18 am

I have just downloaded the Alpha F-4E package of eight Phantom IIs from Page 174 of the Military pages. I want just the old gray bird and the Thunderbird paints. If I slide only those two from the unzipped file over into the Aircraft folder, do I create problems in that they might need something left behind in the other six paints? Am I even allowed to slide only specific textures? Also, I'm cornfoozled in that I don't seem to be seeing the four standard files for the install into FS9. It's a big download at almost 14Mb, so don't anyone waste too much time with this question unless you have a high-speed connection.

And sliding the Gauges and Effects folders always scares me. Is it better to open those folders and slide each little file inside over as opposed to sliding the whole thing? That question about overwriting the files already in that folder always gives me pause...

If the aircraft is not displaying complete components, most likely it was designed in the early days of FS2002 at the latest, but probably FS2000 or earlier, and was not designed for display in FS2004 or later.

I had that same problem, he gear not showing up in the preview.  They show up okay in real-time, however.
