AA MD-80  Panel

Postby flipside » Wed Apr 02, 2008 5:02 pm

:(Here Again. I downloaded the AA MD80 just fine. Again the panel had no gauges and no switches. What do I do? E-mail me at bilben94@gmail.com.

Hi flip.......... assuming it is the one here at SimV ...civil jets page 225 ...then I think that the panel might be for FSX only.

I say that because in the panel folder is a bak file which states...

MD80 panel for flight simulator X only. Made by Marco Spada using an original bitmap and assembling default and various author's xml gauges.
This panel is FREEWARE - copyright M.Spada 2007.

See other fsx panels at www.arch-spada.com/panels.

Suggest (unless somebody else knows differently) that you get an FS9 panel for this .......commoner ;)

I use a MD80 panel by Massimo Grassi - can't remember where I got it but I'm sure you can google for it. It's analogue rather than the glass FSX panel in the picture - but then I think tha MD80s had analogue instruments anyway?

Theres somthing a little odd here. On Mr Spada's site the 737 panels he does are not quite like that one in your pic!! The one in the pic looks like pmdg's NG....But they have different icons for the various views or maybe wilcos PIC 737 series...! Or is it the default fsx 737???

The MD80 panel on his site is fsx only but it does resemble an md80 panel.

Ive downloaded the AA Md80 on pg 225 to see whats what - and i dont have fsx!!

Bizarre!

Like your alfa though commoner ;)

Well, that panel does come with the MD80 (bizarre and more bizarre!!!) but the cfg in mine says 'copyright microsoft 1999-2003' and 'Boeing 737-800'

But there is md80 named 'baks' and zips for 'md80 main' and 'ap' but a lot of 737 bmps and other things.

Somthings a bit mixed up here in that file :)

...mmm...that looks nice micro 8-)........there are bmp files for both panels in the panel folder but looking at the panel.cfg it could be that there may be another panel.cfg somewhere to call the other panel bmps....a confusing mess to me at least ...which Hagar might like to look at?

The original question of why it won't show in FS9 is still to my mind that it is for FSX only...........commoner :-/

...btw th.....I sold the Alfa for a small fortune just a few weeks ago...got my eye on a little Lotus I have seen........Ill change my sig if I get it ;)

lotus eh ;) nice...

So, if the panel thats with the MD80 (whatever it is) doesnt work in fs9, but it does work in fsx, but in fsx its a 737 panel then it seems to me the soloution is to delete the entire panel file and find a good md80 panel.

Either the one pictured above  :)- Massimo Grassi - im sure ive heard his name before in relation to a nice MD-82 - or find another md80 panel...!
