Reply #16 - Today at 10:41:52      I am apparently the one who is baffled...everyone keeps speaking of a "Sound=" that needs to be changed...or the value eliminated from it, and a "Texture=" entry that needs to be added...Apparently I am not explaining this well enough despite posting the as extracted Flightsim.0 entry from aircraft.cfg at least twice in here.
Once again, as extracted I do not, I repeat do not have a single value next to the "Sound=" entry in the aircraft.cfg file as extracted directly into the FS9/aircraft file. from the downloaded .zip file.
This is exactly the same regardless of whether I download the file from Simviation or POSKY directly.
With the N843MH aircraft model downloaded directly from POSKY, this is my Aircraft.cfg file entry.

[fltsim.0]
title=Project OpenSky - Boeing 767-400er Delta N843MH
sim=767-400-GE-CF6-80C2B7F
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=
checklists=
atc_airline=DELTA
atc_id=N843MH
atc_flight_number=93
atc_heavy=1
atc_parking_types=GATE, RAMP, CARGO
atc_parking_codes=DAL
ui_manufacturer=Boeing
ui_type=767-432ER
ui_variation=Delta Airlines N843MH
description=Project Opensky - Boeing 767-400\nVersion 2004.9.9\n\nModel Designer\n   Albert Bouwman\n\nFlight Dynamics Designer\n   Warren C. Daniel\n\nTechnical Advisors\n   Nick Peterson\n   Simon Ng\n\nTest Pilots\n   Project Opensky Members\n\nMaximun Range: 5,645 nautical miles (10,450 km) \n\nTypical city pairs: \n   Atlanta-London\n   Honolulu-Guam
No where in this file entry do I see anything after the Sound= entry.
The texture=   entry should remain blank because the texture folder is named simply.....

For the Delta NNC aircraft as extracted again, from the .zip file directly into my FS9/aircraft file, this is how it looks....

[fltsim.0]
title=Project OpenSky - Boeing 767-400 Delta NNC
sim=767-400-GE-CF6-80C2B7F
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=DAL_NNC
checklists=
atc_airline=BOEING
atc_id=N840MH
atc_flight_number=764
atc_heavy=1
atc_parking_types=GATE, RAMP, CARGO
atc_parking_code=DAL
ui_manufacturer=Boeing
ui_type=767-400
ui_variation=Delta NC
visual_damage=1
description=Project Opensky - Boeing 767-400\nVersion 2004.9.9\n\nModel Designer\n   Albert Bouwman\n\nFlight Dynamics Designer\n   Warren C. Daniel\n\nTechnical Advisors\n   Nick Peterson\n   Simon Ng\n\nTest Pilots\n   Project Opensky Members\n\nMaximun Range: 5,645 nautical miles (10,450 km) \n\nTypical city pairs: \n   Atlanta-London\n   Honolulu-Guam

Now, unless I am missing something in the context and translation of all of this I think I am doing exactly what everyone is telling me to do...
Please if I am missing something, someone smack me up side the head with a 2x4.
Either way, this aircraft works fine in the flight model. It flies as perfectly in all phases of flight I would expect it too. But it is still a big grey 767.  both in the aircraft selection window where is spins to right by its vertical axis...and in the actual sim....while flying it. from the exterior view.
I do appreciate all the help and advice..I just wish I knew what I was missing. Again I am computer literate enough to understand the context file names assignments and values necessary to make an aircraft work in flight sim. I know enough about flying to know what should be happening with over 11000 hours of real flight experience.
I am no dummy in that regard. This airplane as extracted does not work in my computer from the point of the actual Delta Livery paint. But at this point I see no use in belaboring the issue..I certainly do not want to tie everyone else up with this one problem....there are I am sure higher priority issues to contend with...Thanks veyr much everyone..but at this point I am simply going to delete the airplanes and find something else to download to ruffle my feathers with.

LOL.....Oh come on!.. I am the oldest on the forum and would guess that POS is "Parents Over Shoulder"...won't even bother to explain further...commoner ::)

No more ideas on the texture thing...suggest deleting the lot and do the nnc texture by just having    texture=   in the cfg file and naming the texture folder as just  texture     if that doesn't work then I am stuck for ideas........commoner ;)

Commoner and everyone else, I appreciate your help and perseverence trying to solve this....But I finally gave up...O have also been talking to some of the people over at POSKY, and they are as baffled as I am. Several tried downloading and came up with the same problem. Anyway, I gave up, deleted the two files and moving on.....

Thanks again.

Thanks Boomer...sorry to have "failed" on this one.....why some of us are happily flying this great POSKY a/c and yet others like yourself are haveing problems remains a mystery...if the guys at POSKY can't fathom it then well......us poor mortals ::) have no chance..........I won't give up on it but don't hold your breath eh?

 best...commoner ;)

Parents Over Shoulder, commoner? At my advanced age, the issue I have is COS - Children Over Shoulder!  ;D

That wasn't one of the possibilities that I'd thought of - 'Piece of S***' was the closest I could get.

;)
