need some help.. Aircraft.cfg?

Postby fulanito_uk » Thu Feb 07, 2008 10:25 am

hi I found a nuclear bomb effect however am stuck.. the readme says;

"pen the aircraft's cfg folder you want to place these effects in with notepad.  If you do not
have a {SMOKESYSTEM] in your aircraft cfg, then copy and paste the smokesystem (below) to the
bottom of your a/c.  Close Notepad, hit yes when prompted to overwrite.

[SMOKESYSTEM]
smoke.0=-1.00, -2.00, 0.00, fx_Nukem

If you already have a [SMOKESYSTEM], then change the *smoke.0=* to *smoke.NEXT # =* in order of next.
Then save it."

-the plane i want to add this too is a alphasim TU-22

which has an aircraft.cfg of

[smokesystem]
smoke.0 = 0.5, -55, -3, fx_eng_exhaust_gry
smoke.1 = 0.5, -55, 3, fx_eng_exhaust_gry

I don't understand what I am meant to do with his command..?

THANKS

The problem is that the smoke is already gauge controlled. You would need to open the panel.cfg for that model, and remove the entry for the "offending" gauge. Not sure which one it would be, as I don't have that model.

Just for testing purposes, you might try a different panel. (Make sure you back up your original panel folder  first!)

Ok First a few words about this:

1) I'm not sure about the info I'm about to give you. I have NO WAY to test it, and as such continue AT YOUR OWN RISK!

2) What I'm about to say is only an idea. Again, I don't know if it will work. But given the minimal risk involved, it IS what I would try first.

3) BACK UP THIS PANEL.CFG BEFORE GOING ANY FURTHER!

Ok, it looks like the gauge in question would be found here:

[Vcockpit01]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=128,128
visible=0
window_size= 1.000, 1.000
pixel_size=128,128
texture=$LHupper
window_pos= 1.000, 1.000

[glow=yellow,2,300]gauge00=Alpha_Tu-22M3!Alpha_exh_smoke2,
