I was flying with my son yesterday evening (he's 3 and LOVES to "fly planes with daddy") and I was flying the default Cessna 172 and skimming the wheels in a lake making water splash up. Well I hit the land and kind of bounced. The sim didn't register a crash, but it killed the engine. I dropped flaps and managed to land successfully, but I could not for the life of me figure out how to restart the plane. I did the ctrl + e a few times, that didn't work, so I brought up the kneeboard and went through all the process of manually starting it, all to no avail. You could just hear the sound of the engine turning over, but the prop never moved. My question is, is it actually possible to completely kill the engine in a plane? That's sure how it seemed for me. I wound up just having to exit and make a new flight. Anyone have any ideas or info on this? That's the first time that's ever happened to me like that.
Thanks!
