Hi Dave.  Thanks for priority info.

Laptop : I removed the one VHHX bgl file in the laptop (I think it might have been a Peter Bos file that my fs friend tried but didn't tell me about & I think it was the one that gave me the surprise runway lights so I've banned him from adding stuff without asking in future) & followed the procedure you suggested & I now have Jim Vile's KT along with Eddie Chan's Autogen buildings.   It's an amazing fly-in & my 747 flights are rather like those I saw on Youtube this morning    ::)  

Desktop: I checked for any VHHX bgls but as I've not added any that I could remember, I just followed your suggestions & as I've said, all works there now.
So - thanks for your help.  It's another learning experience & I remain amazed & grateful that there is so much help available here, & given by so many knowledgeable & friendly people.
