Prop question

Is there any way to change 4 big black disks to something that looks like normal spinning props. :-/

Sounds like a texture bitmap is missing. Which plane do you have this problem with?

Its the Republic XF-12/XR12 Rainbow. I even removed the texture folder but the disks are still the same. The a/c is available here at vintage a/c page 7.

Worked fine for me. Hmm, make sure the rainbow's texture folder has 6 texture bitmaps in it, it should have : "F12fins", "F12fuse", "F12lftwing", "F12nose", "F12parts", and "F12prop".

OK GB. will check the texture folder.Perhaps the D/L was bad. Also I have noticed same a/c mention a prop anime ratio if I remember but I cant find it in any of my installed a/c. Think it was in the a/c cfg. would that make any change?

Changing the rotation speed probably won't help much. This plane just doesn't have the best "prop disk" texture. Let me ask you this, is the texture showing up at all, or are you only seeing the untextured black disk of the model itself?

........or just "borrow" the prop bitmap from another similar a/c..........rename it to F12prop.bmp...try a few different ones till you find one you like......go on; have fun..........commoner ;)

Thanks all. GB, all you see are the black dics until you shut down the engines and then the props start to appear. Commoner I will give tour suggestion a try. Lots of good prop discs out there. :o

Well by changing bmps and trying different ones they now look a little better than before. One thing I noticed was if you remove the original F12prop bmp you wind up with the 4 black discs.I can not find a substitute, anyone know of one? This is my first try at fooling around with textures so I am no texture expert.

I had this problem on 2 occasions.  The first was missing textures in the d/l & the second was my misreading the installation instructions about the texture folder!!   Once I reinstalled it worked OK - long time ago now thought!
