Order for reinstalling FS9?

Postby Alonso » Mon Aug 20, 2007 5:38 pm

Hi! I've got a little question...

I just formatted my FS drive, because the comp kept giving me sector errors in boot...

Well... now I have just installed FS2004 and the 9.1 update from Microsoft...

Is there any order for installing main add-ons so the sim runs faster?

The MAIN add-ons I have are:

ActiveSky
FE Pro
GE Pro
FSUIPC
FSSkyWorld
Lots of Mesh...
And Lots of scenery...
Oh yeah and LOTS of aircraft...

Thanks in advance :)

As far as I know, I don't think the order of add-on install matters all that much from a performance standpoint. However, a defrag might be a good idea after everything is installed.

Order won't affect performance, but it might affect looks.

Okay, so I would install the scenery first.  I know it sounds odd, but some may overwrite default textures.  THEN install ground environment.  On top of that, install active sky, then install FE but be sure that AS is set to use flight environment textures.  Don't install FSSkyworld if you install FE.  Mesh can go in whenever and FSUIPC needs to go in for AS i believe but it doesn't matter which goes in first (as long as both go in)
