Aircraft Carrier Problems

Postby DonAlfonsoRoKil » Thu Jun 28, 2007 7:46 am

I was not sure if I should post it here, but it's better than in the design section I think.

I yesterday downloaded a few wonderful aircraft carriers.
Also an F-14 Tomcat (the package should be able to operate on carriers as it has some gauges for that on the panel).
(donwloaded both from simviation :D)
I installed, no I unzipped and copied the data etc. to fs folder like I always do. I could do it while sleeping!
The carrier is wondeful, the Tomcat model even more.

But I was asking how I can make the the arrestor cables and the catapult launch work.
There are lots of documents in both packages about that, but it's too hard for me  :-[ :-/.
I really don't understand what I have to do with my aircraft and the carrier. Can sb help me?

Hello,

if you have not already done so,you should download a free program called rcbco-20
There is a doc file wich explain everything.
It looks complicated but if you read the instructions CAREFULLY et COMPLETELY there is really not much to it.

Have fun

Yes this rcbco-20 was in the tomcat package....
I already installed that before but I didn't look at especially these docs!

:D   I'll give it a try.  In your gauges file in FS9 there are two files to look for.  dsd_arrestorcable_ and dsd_catapaultlaunch or somethinf close to that.  Open those with notepad and add the specific additions that are part of the carrier program you download.  They are there as everyone that I have downloaded included these additions.  You just have to look for them.  Open the files in your FS9 "gauge" folder first so you know what your looking for.

I have aircraft carriers as well and still can't seem to add the catapult and cables. Could someone please give me a link to where I could find these files needed in order to let the carrier function properly and some instructions. That would be great.

Rcbco-20 may not have cat and arrestor zone info for the carriers you are using.( Should though) In any case, You need to use panels that have the Rcbco-20 gauges installed in them, or install the gauges into the panels you are using yourself. The Rcbco-20 download should have instructions on how to do this.

Try downloading and using Dino Cattaneo's
