Missing Airports?

Postby Celtman » Sun Jul 01, 2007 11:03 am

I have just noticed that all my airports on the west cost of America (Canada, USA, Chile) are missing!

Seems to be west of vegas that everything has gone.

Any ideas how to sort this out without re-installing? I have so much pay ware now that I really don't want to re-install.

Thanks,
Celtman

Your only hope would be to look on your system for a file called sceneryold it would be in the main root folder of FS. If you find one then open it using word or note pad and compare with the regular scenery cfg file. Chances are you will find missing entries in the scenery cfg file. I would suggest you rename the scenery cfg file to scenery_one.bak then rename the sceneryold file as scenery.cfg
provided you have not removed any scenery files this should return your missing airports. If not then I am afraid a uninstall and reinstall may be the only way to solve the issue. 8-)

Unfortunately that didn't help :(

don't know if this will help, but here is a map of the USA in my FS. Scenery + airports stop where the state boundaries stop  (dotted lines)

Wow.... a new FS2004 problem that I have never seen before!

What was the LAST add-on scenery that you installed just before you noticed this happening?  THAT is likely the culprit.

Or were you doing some "computer maintenence" on the FS directory?  If so, you deleted a crucial entry.

Do you have a Restore Point set before this started happening?  Maybe that will help if you overwrote or deleted something.

I have a restore point, I think I'll try that.

The last scenery I installed way ground environment and active sky (at the same time). Could it be these?

Well....... the one that affects the GROUND is the more likely culprit.   ;)   And since those programs aerea in WIDE use by many people who have no problems ...... it is likely a corrupt download you got  and not the program files themselves.

Did you have any issues with the installers?  Were your paths found by the installers or did you have to "do something"?
