Limit to number of aircraift?

Postby Dan Brown » Thu Jun 21, 2007 5:31 pm

Hello All-

Does anyone know if there is a limit to number of additional aircraft? (or manufacturers, or models per manufacturer?) I sometimes find that recently installed aircraft don't show up in my aircraft list. Then I go an detele one I don't use anymore, and the new one shows up. If there is a limit, is there anyway to hack this? Thanks for your help!

Hi Dan. There is no limit that I know of to the number of aircraft or variations you can have installed to FS. I suspect your problem is due to a conflict of some kind. For example, two different aircraft with exactly the same Aircraft.cfg entries. When you delete one the other one displays.

Yeah, I downloaded plenty of AA's when I was using FS9, and I don't believe there's a limit like that.  Like Hagar said, it's most likely that there's a problem with how the aircraft was installed, or conflicting files.

I have 132 planes I can call on, very few problems. I try and get rid of variations and remove textures and edit the aircraft.cfg file accordingly.

I have 237 aircraft all of which flew during 1939-1945 - and I still have a few to go.      Additionally, I have about 50 others of different vintages.       I don't have any problems.

Thanks to all who replied.

To anyone with a similar problem: Turns out some of my aircraft.cfg files had bad code. The first line would say something like [texture.6] so it was looking for the first five, which weren't there. Once I changed this out, it would show up in my menu.

Have you ever thought about starting your own air force? :-)

When I was flying for real, I logged about 170 types.       FS gives me a chance to pick up the ones I couldn't get for real.      And no, I never thought about it.    I was in a damn good air force without starting one up myself.
