make a backup copy of the cfg file there, then go ahead and remove that one and then restart the sim
from there THEN the sim will rebuild the cfg file

Dead on here this is what you need to do. After installing a different video card you will need to rebuild the fs9cfg file. All you really need to do is to take out the lines
[DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce 6800 .0]
