FS9.....FSX  What a choice!

Postby uncleyuk » Tue Jun 19, 2007 9:50 am

:D      A view that will catch a lot of flak from the die hard FSXers in the difference between the two.  I have FSX Deluxe and my ever faithful FS9.  I can run FS9 maxed to the 10's, I can run FSX on high and medium, not much traffic, not many clouds and definately not at a large airport like KSEA.  While FSX's scenery is something to behold, FS9, with it's many, many add-ons is equally awesome.  A majority of simmers do not have the latest high end machines required to run FSX.  FS9 ran great on my old 1 G gateway.  I have upgraded to a much better computer but still have problems running FSX, while my FS9 is flying circles around it.  I do believe I'll stick with my FS9 and when I'm feeling depressed anyway I'll try to pilot a 747 out of SeaTac on FSX.  Just my opinion...I shouldn't ask, but whats yours.

What are your system specs??????

My system specs are written as my signature take a look. I have no problems with FSX, but when it comes down to having everything maxed out (traffic, scenery, etc etc....) i choose fs9!  :D

I'm holding off on FSX for now.  I just bought Cloud9's KLAX at their 50% discount of $12.00 USD, and I'm quite pleased.  First of all, I've maxed out all my fs9 sliders, and with the Cloud9 addon, I said to myself, "Hey there's cars going back and forward on Aviation Blvd..........cool!"

>:( I to are of the same opinion> Now I DO REMEMBER fs2000 and how much better fs2002 was. Then fs9 came along and at first count not very impressed!
That disc 4 had to be in the drive, a proper bind. and you cls down to activate new scenery and this would could provide problems in crashing the computer. After reading David OPA Marshall's Tips and Tricks I always start  FS9 up in the default flight.
There is a wee prog to get away from disc 4.
Now week to week, I appear to be getting better and better aircraft, and scenery to download. This plane I like >ys-11africa.zip<
FSX sits there in it's folder and seldom used, even with the SP1 upgrade.

:D  I have the majority of my specs listed but left out 48x DVD/CD R/RW LightScribe.  The only controller I use is Microsoft Force Feedback.  I've thought about the other stuff but figured it would get a little costly.

I just put a new, disease-free hard drive in my machine and have to now go back and re-install everything. I am hoping that with this sanitary drive, FS9 and Effessten will run like Jesse Owens. I am off tomorrow and plan to do this then. I may just leave Effessecks off; I was so disappointed in it on the old drive...
