Logitech Force 3D Pro gone crazy.

Can anyone help? On FS2004, the joystick is very sensative. So sensative that when I open the throttle for take-off it's like riding a bucking bronco! I'm serious, the aircraft swings to the right, then the left, I end up taking off at 90degrees to the runeway. I am sure that a lot of it is pilot induced, but the initial swerve is crazy. I recently started using this joystick and it is my first F/Feedback joystick. Possibly I have the settings wrong. Can anyone offer some advise please.

Every aircraft. There is a setting that I am missing or an incorrect setting is in place. The sensativity is crazy. Going down the runway I feel like I am riding a bike for the first time and if I am lucky, I actually leave via the tarmac and not the grass & trees.

This may be a silly question, are you trying this in clear weather with no wind?

No wind at all. If I let the stick go in flight, it starts oscillating. It's crazy! It's got a mind of it's own. If I bank in a small jet fighter, I end up rolling the aircraft. I am hoping that it is not the stick and that it is a setting of mine that has the stick ultra sensative.

Desktop:

Start > Settings > Game Controllers > Properties.....

Set all your Force feedback sliders and spring tensions, etc, to Zero!

Test the stick and throttle in all directions.

In FS 2004 select your own button assignments for trigger (brake) etc, etc,...as required......!

The only peculiarity with it, is whenever I first load up the Flight Sim, the joystick and throttle require re-calibrating by revolving/moving/twisting them all through their positions immediately the sim has loaded, and before moving...otherwise I am all over the place!...LOL...!

It does it every time, (which the precious Logitech stick didn't)... :-?...!
It doesn't remember it's previous default settings!

The Saitek is a nice, general purpose stick tho', suitable for both Yoke and Joystick type flying

I've gone through several Logitech 3D Pro sticks.  The one I have now is about 2 years old with no problems whatsoever.  The previous sticks eventually came up with a tendency for all aircraft to tilt slightly laterally (not fly level) to one side.  This one has not shown that prediliction.  That's the only in-flight problem I've ever had.

I've also had some problems, and still do, with aircraft not taking off straight.  I don't think my joystick or FS settings are apparently the source of that problem; other simmers in the past have reported the same problem with different joysticks.

Be sure the joystick is properly calibrated, and check out the internal FS joystick settings also (Sorry, but I forget exactly how that's done, look around inside the sim, you'll find it easily).

Also, one other interesting observation:  I always plug my stick in through the back of the computer tower.  I once plugged it into a front USB ports and all aircraft once again would not fly level.

In conclusion, this should not be happening on the level you're describing.

If the problem persists, and you do not receive some real tech advice here, you may want to try either another Logitech stick (you can always return it), or another brand altogether just to see if that solves the problem.  I suppose it's possible that the stick is somehow defective.

Thanks guys. I think I have it. I eased the force effect back and at the same time, notice that the auto centreing was not ticked. After ticking that, the aircraft rolls straight down the centreline. Lets hope my rodeo days are over.
