Strange strobeing effect..

Postby Zaphod » Thu Jun 14, 2007 6:39 am

I've just become aware of a strange black strobeing effect which appears on most aircraft, normally around the cockpit/cowl area but only in Tower View. All other views are fine.
I have deleted the only aircraft which I installed recently but it makes no difference. I haven't changed any drivers etc.

Any ideas?

Zaphod.

This is a little odd but you have to remember when you add a aircraft they sometime come with there own lights and effects and even though you have removed the aircraft the effects and lights are still there. So it is possible that one of your navigation lights have been changed. Check the group of files that came with the last aircraft that you had installed to see if there were any effect files or nav lights that came with it, if so try removing them. When installing any aircraft be careful when moving files over if you get a duplicate file message I strongly suggest that you keep the original file.

Also be carefull when using aircraft that have there own install program as they can over write a file without prompting you. 8-)

Gary. Thanks for the prompt reply.
The last aircraft I installed did have an effects file which I had failed to delete but now that I have it hasn't sorted the problem.
The trouble is I can't be sure when this strange problem started as I don't use Tower View all that often.
It seems to effect most of my aircraft and even the AI!

Just a bit more information.
It doesn't do it in "Windowed Mode."
The strobeing appears as black diagonal/angular lines or blocks which are stationary untill the plane starts to move and then they move in sympathy. But only in Tower view.
I repeat I haven't changed any Graphics drivers so it's a bit of a mystery.

Slowly going mad.

I doubt if this will help but who knows it can not hurt rename your FS9 cfg file and let it build a new one just change the type of file to a bak file  8-)
