MFD Problem

Postby JSpahn » Thu Jun 07, 2007 5:04 am

Hello all,

Im wondering if anybody else has had ths problem and if there is a way to fix it? On my MFD the indicated airspeed shortly after takeoff stops and goes to 0????? It happens on different craft all around the same time. I noticed it after I installed The 737 experience

Any Ideas? :-?

Yep, I've also had this problem, even with the default FS9 aircraft. In my case it has always started working again after a few minutes. Sounds like a bug!

I have that problem with my 737s (all designers). I found a solution ( it works, really!): turn on the pilot heat! It works for me, but maybe my PC is freak (it is)

:D  Whenever my airspeed drops to zero it is because the pitot heat isn't on.  This is especially true in cold weather.  If you can't find the gauge, I believe you press shift+h.

Ah that makes sense  to me now I was flying around in a snow storm. Now in reality why does that happen? Just curious :-/

Wild that this is included in fs9, sorry still a newbie.  All this time I thought the pilot heat was actually for the pilot seriously :-? <--G.W. ;D ;D ;D

It's always a pleasure (and a challenge) to teach other people about the pitot-static systems since it's a rather complicated gimmic.

Gave it a try and works like a charm, its nice to know what that switch does. Ill  have 100 more head scratchers like that one. :-? Now when Im in the air the MFD does drop to zero, Im guessing fs 9 isnt 100% accurate?
