Square Waves

Postby tosh » Fri Jan 12, 2007 5:02 pm

For some reason my shore side waves have turned square, I have tried everything I know to get them back to normal, but to no avail, can anyone suggest anything wrather than have to uninstall and start all over again, as I have been loading into FS9 since day one and it will take an age to get back to square one.

Have you modified any files that involve waves? Try retrieving the files from the FS9 discs... ;)

Back to the topic at hand, is the sqaures in the textures or in the actual shpae of the waves. It would be very nice if you could include a picture.

I have this same issue... can anyone please post the solution... it looks like it might have been done in a PM.

edit....

I think I have it
******************
So still guess that restoring the 2 files will solve the problem.
CD1\MSGame1.cab\ effects\texture

Below are the names to the two BMP's you need.
fx_swoosh.bmp is the incoming wave,
fx_swoosh2.bmp is the outgoing wave.

Thanks

I occasionally get a similar problem with my shore waves appearing as white oblong shapes...
..the same thing occurs with some of my various default cloud types.... :(...!

I suspect it is a problem with my Graphics Card (Over-heating? Faulty chip? etc.), and is mostly cured by manually refreshing the whole screen whilst in flight.

Paul....overdue for a new Graphics Card....;)...!
