Help please with scenery problem and BA

Postby horwendil » Tue Feb 13, 2007 5:30 am

Hi All, I would really like an expert opinion if my scenery list is right and also possible solution to problem. I have fs2004traffic, BA southwest and central and have just started having a more noticeable problem with positioning of aircraft. e.g. Southampton Int. I did have light aircraft taxiing on grass beside taxiway but last night I found gates 3 and 4 put me inside terminal building, static aircraft parked at 90 degrees to stands and start on active runway put me on the right hand side of the rway. I downloaded but did not install UK2000 afcads after reading about that as a solution to part of the problem elsewhere, but the read me said NOT for BA.
jpeg of top part of scenery list viewable at http://www.pctony.co.uk/scenery.jpg

really appreciate any help in this.

Looks to me like a AFCAD problem. What I can see is that you have add-on scenery for your airports, but it's painfully obvious from your tale that the AFCAD's are either grossly wrong or absent and referring to default.

Don't really know the scenery you're using, so I can't be more precise on how to put a patch on it beside suggesting you to make sure you're using the suggested AFCAD files for the given add-on scenery.

Thank you for replying, I have just downloaded afcads from justflight site, and hopefully I will get
them in the right place, and all the updates for the BAirports as well. Strange thing is apart from the minor irritation of small aircraft taxiing on the grass the rest was ok until I installed the trials for fsnav and cargo pilot, and on reflection I seem to remember a BN Islander parked across the gate I was directed to at Southampton.
Do you think, from the JPG that I have things in the right order? should traffic be on top?
appreciate your time, thanks

The general order of priorities should be meshes for last, AFCAD's just over the mesh, other sceneries on top with airports given the topmost priority.

This is a general schematic of priorities. Things may vary case for case.

So I guess, yeah, your sceneries position are pretty good.

Hi Ashaman, thanks fer reply and glad I've got it right so far. Having trouble getting to grips with afacads, tho'. Bournemouth puts me on the grass almost in the trees. I find a/c parked on the taxiways
- bit of a mess all round, and that is after installing all the updates frorm the justflight site for BA and Traffic. - wish there was definitve guide because as far as I can see it can be very easy to install the wrong things in the wrong places. (soemthimes think it was easier flying the real thing:) )
