Well boys (and girls), I have just started down the trail to true geekdom! I just ordered Linux XP2007 and will get some advice from my professional geek friends on how to rip all the MS stuff off and place the Linux stuff on here.. I'm pretty nervous, but I think its for the better!

Well, I'm not exactly a complete computer "rube". I've done mostly everything on the hardware side and some stuff on the software side, I've just never used anything BUT Microsoft stuff and they are really beginning to irritate me. I've just never removed and OS before and replaced it with something else. It will be a new experience for me I'm sure.  I've got plenty of professional help from actual professional computer geeks. I may not even go with it, but right now, its the closest and best option to rid myself of the ever growing problems that MS seems to really be creating. I'm still not overly thrilled about XP when the came up with the SP2 addition and it almost killed my other computer. Lots of problems and lots of bugs! It did finally get all worked out, but it should be that screwed up all the time.

I second that. I've used both versions XP Pro and Home and they are good. Vista to me, is like an accident waiting to happen.

I'll agree that this Vista thing is not all its cracked up to be. I REALLY find it strange as heck that it WILL load CFS 2 & 3 and runs and looks beautiful! Why would it load that? CFS 3 was a really goofy program for a lot of computers and it loaded right up and runs fantastic?!?!?!?!  :o
