I don't know if this is the correct way of doing it but it works. Set up & save your flights in the usual way under suitable names. Then exit FS9 & create a new folder in the FS9\Flights folder. Name this folder with the category you wish to add & drag the corresponding FLT & WX files into it.

One of the options in the opening Menu in FS9 is....
"Create a Flight"...!

That's what I do every time I fire up the Simulator, and select my Aircraft, Location, Time, Weather, etc, etc....
It is different every time...
If you want to collect a whole selection of your flights, just "Save" them, (giving them a Title), before closing the Simulator down.
You can then select them from the "Saved Flights" Menu list of flights...

He's talking about new categories Paul. Like the default ones on the Select a Flight menu.

I forgot to mention that flights are saved to your
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\My Documents\Flight Simulator Files folder. I suspect that deleting this folder is the cause of a lot of problems with FS9.

To expand on the info Hagar provided, you can read instructions in the FS Learning Center:

Flight Simulator>Learning Center>Index (tab)>Flight Catagories>Creating.

It details the process for you and also describes how to create a 'category description' and 'flight description'.

Cheers,
Dave

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
