Installing Repaints

Postby ESzczesniak » Fri Nov 10, 2006 10:36 pm

I am sure this has been discussed endlessly, but I can't find it anywhere.  How do I install aircraft repaints in MSFS2004 for non-default aircraft?  Just copying the textures doesn't seem to work.  Thanks.

If you read the readme in the .zip of the repaint, it should tell you all you need to know. ;) If you still have problems, let us know.

Sounds like you've not added the aircraft in the aircraft.cfg file.
This tutorial says it is for 2k2 but it works fine for FS9 as well.

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

When one installs repaints make sure the a/c for which the repaint is for is already installed or part of the repaint package. Otherwise go and install said a/c!!

Thanks for the help.  My problem definitely was in the .cfg file.  I was following the instructions and thinking it wasn't working...it actually turns out that I was changing the aircraft name, but hadn't seen the user interface name to change as well, so it was showing up in menus as whatever aircraft I had already installed, but not the repaint.
