help with sound files...

Postby aReyoUIn86 » Fri Oct 13, 2006 1:34 am

The sound file is there in the aircraft folder, but when I load up the flight simulator and click fly now. All my aircraft have no engine sound, although you can hear the sound of retracting flap and gear up. Help please

Hi .......has this suddenly happened?..........it may sound silly but check your Sound Settings and make sure the Engine checkbox is checked and the slider tuned up...........commoner. :)

Yes...all the sounds are on. That includes engines, cockpit, environment, navigation, lessons/ flights, air traffic control. And the sound quality is on High. I can hear the air traffic controller fine but just not the engine. All the aircraft with the same engine have the same problem (no sounds). I'm guessing I delete something that's default and is got to do with some sort of sound file. Or is it.... ???

I suspect you deleted one or more of the default aircraft that these addons have their sound aliased to. Take my tip & do not delete default files.

No...all the default aircraft are here. I didn't delete any of it atlough I did change the name of the folder. I notice something funny....the sound is back but all the aircraft panel had turn into a 737 panel... ::)

All of my 747s which mainly from project open sky and all of the Airbus.

That's the answer. Leave those default folder names as they are.  Aliased panel/sound files use the folder names of the aircraft.
