Problem with Flying Lessons in fs9

Postby ludwig » Thu Sep 28, 2006 11:55 am

In the Flight Lessons in fs9, has anyone else noticed that the INSTRUMENT CHECK RIDE starts off with faulty information?  To wit:  It says to track 66degrees to FACTS before intercepting the inbound VOR, but 66 degree DOES NOT TAKE YOU TO FACTS!!! Or is it possible I'm missing something?

Thanks, Joe in Athens, OH

I wouldn't worry about it Joe, your not missing anything, your most probably right - the FS9 lessons are world renowned for being particulary buggy - some people say that Bill Gates himself wrote them :o  ;D ;D

Cheers,

ya there is a problem with the instrument check ride, but if you search around you can find links that may be able to help you out. (walkthroughs)

I would not worry about it the check rides are allmost impossable to pass. You have little room for error and then you have to take the test on the third monday of the month at 3:00 pm while standing on your head ;D :D ;)
You never know it just might work. 8)

I wouldn't be surprised. :-/

Though I can understand the willingness to learn, you better search elsewhere. The flying lessons shipped with the simulator are there only to exasperate a beginner virtual pilot up to the point he or she will uninstall FS9 ASAP, disgusted.

Why, you ask? But of course to buy FSX.

Oh, BTW, was in your shoes, I wouldn't hope too much about the flying lessons in FSX either. Unless of course you'll want to find yourself in the position of wanting uninstall FSX too in wait for FSXI (or whatever it will be called) and its lessons. :P

Of course, was in your shoes, I wouldn't...

;D ;)

Thanks, guys.  I should'a known.  But it's nice to know that it's probably not me who's going nuts!  Looks like Bill Gates got my cherry.  I'll not expect so much in the future.
Thanks, again.
