Looking around the cockpit?

Iv been simming for ages now but Iv always wondered what I need to do in order to be able to pan the camera continuously around the cockpit when in VC mode. I hope you understand what I mean. Instead of just flicking from normal to right to rear etc. Like you can in 'lock on'. Do I just need a new joystick with a movey key on the top or is it a setting that Im just missing somewhere??

There are a few ways to go about this:

You need a hat button on the joystick

or you could get TrackIR which allows you to pan the VC with your head

or you could get ActiveCamera Pro which you could pan the cockpit with the mouse (if it has a wheel on it)
