Essential.

;D

Basically, it gives you a little more freedom to move the view around with the mouse, most notably in the virtual cockpit, where you use mouse 3 to look around. Download it, the manual tells you how to go about using it properly :)

It's simply a way to make full use if a virtual cockpit or cabin. The standard default allows you to move arround in the VC, but you are confined to the cockpit. If your AC also has a virtual cabin, like the SamDim TU-114 or Meljet 777 you can only look at it through the cockpit door by turning around.

With F1 though, the limit on how far you can moved has been removed. By useing the scroll wheel on the mouse, you can 'walk' right down the plane inside to the rear of the passenger cabin, turn, look out of the window, etc. (just remember to leave the auto-pilot on!) Another good example is the Simshed C-130 Hercules. You can leave the cockpit and walk right upto the open rear ramp and enjoy the view!
