Can't see aircraft in selection menu

Postby Qsat » Mon Jan 02, 2006 4:07 am

Hi there, I played FS9 yesterday and everyting was fine, When i started it up today, i can't see the preview of the aircraft at the bottom of the selection screen anymore, just a black box.

I did not add any add-on since a couple of week, the only change to my PC since yesterday is an automatic system clean-up. But all the .mdl files seems to be there.

I just tried mdl repair in airman2002 but it did not chage anything.

Anyone can help? I got 174 planes to choose from, id'like to see them before loading in a scenery....

If you are running Windows XP have you tried system restore. It is amazing what some of these clean up programs will remove. This iis why you should always check files manually befroe deleting any thing that may be important or vital to make a program run normally.

I have the same problem but only when I use the hw AA instead of FS's (geforce 6800). In my case it always happened, I can't link it to any "cleanup" operation.

I have to go along with FS_PILOT one has to be very carefull what he/she deletes or removes with some clean up program. With XP files tie together in ways you would not even imagine.
I also recomend using the system restore to put every thing back the way it was before the cleanup program ran. I  would then suggest you trash the clean up program.
I made the mistake of using CLEAN SWEEP thinking it would not remove files that I needed  but would remove all of the unused files that I no longer used. WRONG! It turned my system into a paper weight.
Thank god for system restore. A real life saver. 8)
