engines off at start-up

is there a way to configure FS9 so that when the program starts up the aircraft is parked on the tarmack with the engines off. It would add to the realism of pre flight and start up
thanks

Yes.

Start a flight, shut off the engines, save the flight, end flight- Go to "select a flight", pick the one you saved before and make it default.

or you can select the "previously generated flight" from the list and make it default.... so you will always return to where and how you were when you left off.... so when you shut your engines off when you park and leave FS, you get to turn them on again when you play FS again

far more realistic that way, IMO, i keep it that way all the time...
