HELP!!! My panels are HUGE!!!

Postby TheRealFlyBoy » Tue Dec 06, 2005 4:49 am

For some reason, all my panels are extremely huge. It takes up the entire screen...and then some.

It started after I installed an add-on aircraft. I tried un-installing FS2004 and deleted the leftovers from the un-install and then re-installed it, but that didnt work. I dont understand whats going on. Im at a loss as to what to do.

Hopefully someone here has had a similar experience and could maybe help me out. I gotta have my panels :(.

Hey, and welcome to SimV.

This panel thing sounds like a real caper...have you tried going to the top of the screen, hovering over the panel and then using the arrow heads to make the panel smaller? Failing that, try hitting - to zoom out...if that fails maybe try a Virtual Cockpit.

Standard ploy - delete your fs9.cfg, restart your sim and away you go..

Thanks for the quick response :D.

Yeah, I have tried resizing the panels to no avail. Zooming in and out only works for the background. Doesnt seem to move the panel.

I looked for an fs9.cfg file and couldnt find one. Even did a file search on the system and came up with nothing :(.

Performing a search for fs9.cfg come up with a blank 9 times out of 10....don't ask, just accept!!

You will find the file here:

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9.

I keep a shortcut to mine on my desktop. Saves hunting all the time.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Thanks for all the help guys :). I really appreciate it.

I found the cfg file and deleted it as suggested. The panels were still huge. So I did some testing and found out what was causing the problem. It was the anti-alaising causing it. Turned it off and my panels were back to normal.

Oh well, back to the jagged edges :(.

Have you tried a reload on your graphics drivers?

That's the proper fix for this problem ;) (reload or an update)

Thanks guys!!!

I actually started downloading the update for my graphics drivers lastnight but stopped short. It was going to take forever (crappy dial-up).

But after reading your posts, I decided to finish it this morning. Now my panels are working properly with anti-alaising turned on :D.

I appreciate the help!

BTW, anyone still using my old Devils Tower add-on? It still works in FS2004. Just need to put the flatten switch in the proper location.
