Silver Wings causes crashes when loading

hi...

i just installed the silver wings package and had to delete it before i even got to fly with it...

during the loading screen, after you hit "fly now", when the progress bar reaches 77% "loading weather" the sim hangs and quits with a generic error message


after uninstalling it all ran fine

there must be something wrong with SW weather since that's where it crashed all the times i tried it ...

i even tried using one of the default non-SW weather themes, but no go...


shoud i try reinstalling it?

I think I read something about it in the Silver Wing forum. Can't find the URL though. Maybe somebody else can give it?

To make Silver Wings work, seen the nature of some of the textures, you have to activate "render to texture" in the hardware tag.

yes, silver wings requires render to texture.  I had the same problem. DONT WORRY!  THe clouds dont give much FPS impact even with render to texture.
