Hi from new member and question about ILS

Postby simonmd » Sun Nov 06, 2005 4:08 pm

Hi, i'm Simon from S Wales in the UK. Firstly, congrats on a very informative site and forum. I've been browsing for a while and have got quite a few tips already!

I've just upgraded to FS9 and after FS2000, i'm well impressed! I love the ATC and all the traffic, scenery, etc. However, one thing I haven't worked out yet is how to program it for ILS aproach. I've flown (succesfully ;)) quite a few of the built in flights, London-Paris-Milan, etc, and have been given all the correct vectors, etc. but have never had the ILS active, even though i've been cleared by ATC for ILS landing. I'm sure it's very simple but any help gretefully received.

Ok  the basic rundown (i hope  ;D) Ils is quite fun in low visibillity but can be tricky   You enter the Ils fequency into the Nav 1 or 2  set GPS/ Nav button to Nav and on the auto pilot select the nav button..  rater simple in fs i think  but for me this doesent always work and i hope someone elce replys with more info  i dont feal i explaned it well but  its basic info here.   Also go to the learning center and look it up in fs 9   great recource there.

gook luck and clear skys

Hi Simon and welcome.

Check out the posting "Flight simulator 2004 FAQ" item 11".
It should help you. It's great fun once mastered.
Enjoy.
